The main access to the Acropolis is located on the western slope, near Theorias Street, although it can also be accessed from the southern slope, near the Acropolis Museum. Entry is organized through mandatory time slots, so it is essential to respect the time selected on the ticket.

For people with reduced mobility, there is an elevator on the northern slope, about 300 meters from the exit of the site, which allows direct access to the Acropolis plateau, near the Erechtheion. Both the northern and southern slopes have accessible routes, although assistance is recommended.

A visit to the Acropolis requires a ticket with an assigned time slot, and access is valid only within the selected interval. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance, as this is the most visited monument in Greece and places for each time slot can sell out quickly. It is advisable to arrive at least 30 minutes before the reserved time to facilitate the access control process. Opening hours of the Parthenon of Athens 2026

The Acropolis has opening hours that vary depending on the season. During the winter season, from November 1 to March 31, the site can be visited from 8:00 to 17:00, with the last entry at 16:40.

During the summer season (April 1 to October 31), opening hours are extended, usually until 20:00, with access allowed until half an hour before closing.

The site remains closed on January 1, March 25, May 1, Easter Sunday, and December 25 and 26. We always recommend checking the updated opening hours before your visit.
